WELCOME!

My name is Alim and I am a third-year student at University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, FL. I am majoring in Biology and Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience and I aspire to go to medical school after I graduate. I have been involved in many clubs and organizations at UF that have made my experience here so meaningful and made me even more dedicated to become a doctor. Volunteering at the Emergency Room, Pediatrics Unit, and Radiology Department at the Shands Hospital has helped me get more accustomed to working with patients at a hospital setting. I had the opportunity to shadow a colorectal surgeon in the O.R., which was an extremely educational and unforgetable experience. I also have been trying to participate in as many research projects as possible, ranging from research on the effects of aging on creative thinking to behavioral therapy.

My involvement on campus has not only helped me gain effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills, but also allowed me to establish close friendships. I am currently an Education Chair director for Pride Student Union at UF and a member of the Gator Salsa Performance Team. I also recently became a Biochem Supplemental Instructor in order to share and expand some of the knowledge I gained through my studies here at UF and interact with other pre-medical students.

In my free time, I love to travel as much as possible, spend time with my friends (and my cat Oreo), go to salsa socials, and play guitar.
